Collard Wraps | Clean Eating

Collard wraps are a great way to get added greens while avoiding all those wraps out there with ingredients that we can’t pronounce and don’t really want to be eating. Now while some of you are saying collard wraps — ICK!!! Let’s try to keep an open mind and hopefully I haven’t steered you wrong yet! If you haven’t tried my homemade chocolate, that will for sure put a smile on your face!! Collard Wraps

Back to the collard wraps! Collards provide many vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin A, and C, and some B. Greens are loaded with antioxidants and have some calcium in them too. 

The cholesterol-lowering ability of collard greens is another reason to add them to your diet. In a recent study, steamed collard greens out shined steamed kale, mustard greens, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and cabbage in terms of its ability to bind bile acids in the digestive tract.

Since bile acids are made from cholesterol, the net impact of this bile acid binding is a lowering of the body’s cholesterol level. It’s worth noting that steamed collards show much greater bile acid binding ability than raw collards.

So that said – let’s see how you can use them! Just check out the video below where I make some collard wrap delight! 

Here are some ideas of WHAT to put into collard wraps!! Feel free to change the measurements or come up with your own ideas!!! 

Avocado Egg Salad

1 avocado

2-4 hard boiled eggs

Himalayan pink salt to taste

garlic powder

pepper 

dijon mustard (optional) 

Mash up the avocado and eggs, add the salt,garlic powder and pepper. Mix. Use in your collard wrap!!

You can make Tuna salad, chicken salad, deli turkey, taco turkey or meat ~ the possibilities are endless for what you can put in your collard wraps. Experiment and have FUN with it!!!
